Overview
The Iran Banking Institute (IBI) is a leading professional training Institute in Iran. The Iran Banking Institute was founded in 1963 in response to the growing needs of the economy for trained and qualified personnel in business, finance, and especially in the banking industry. The institute has been operating since 1963, but after the Islamic revolution in 1979, it was comprehensively reorganized to meet the educational challenges posed by the introduction of Islamic banking in Iran. The institute’s main campus is in Tehran and it has eight centers in the provinces of Mashad, Isfahan, Shiraz, Tabriz, Rasht, Ahwaz, and Sari. This allows bank employees throughout the main provinces of the country to pursue academic education without having to travel to Tehran.
The Institute is also a venue for organizing seminars and conferences on banking, finance and related topics. Seminars, workshops and conferences have been organized, sometimes jointly with such international organizations as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Islamic Development Bank and also with such professional Iranian institutions as the Audit organization, the Tehran Stock Exchange, and the Iranian Institute of Chartered Accountants, in order to present the latest advances in the professional literature, including banking technology. Distinguished speakers from around the world are invited to give lectures and to discuss the latest global development in the monetary, trade and banking fields.
